This method always turns out perfect corn on the cob. I consider my grill my first oven, and the oven that other thing that cooks too. To say that I prefer baking my corn over grilling means that baking, for once, is not only easier but produces constantly good results.
Ingredients
Corn on the Cob
Whatever you want to rub all over it later
Place the oven rack in the middle and preheat to 350 degrees.
Snip off any dangly small leaves and some of the fuzz (silks) on top. Place directly on the rack and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the corn from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before handling. Peel back the leaves and pull off the silks. Serve with the leaves twisted back, they look pretty and make a great handle.

I am going to try this. All I do is boil my corn on the cob?? Do you usually rub it with oil or butter?
Your corn looks fantastic! I've noticed it is starting to appear in stores around here. I'll have to give this a try. Thanks!
I'll have to give this a try.
Laura, this looks so good I'm going to give it a try. This recipe would be terrific when entertaining a gang.
If you say so. I'll try it. I've never tried corn in the oven.
Try it Sherri, you'll like it. Wait, I sound like an old TV commercial.
I normally boil corn and enjoy it on the BBQ, but have never heard of baking it. Makes sense.
But where do you find corn on the cob this time of year? I'm from Ontario, right smack dab in the middle of corn country, and we don't see ears until late August.
Only you can make corn look this beautiful :)
Hi Christie,
Being almost as far North as you are the corn had to be shipped from the South. I'm not sure where it came from, but I bought it at my local Safeway.
It's the first corn to show up so far this year. One of the bad parts of living as far north as we do, is that we can't eat local if we want fresh produce most of the year.

Ooh, so happy to find your blog. Looking forward to exploring your photos.

yummy I love corn :)
Darn it! I was really looking forward to trying this last night but then I forgot to preheat the oven and get the corn in. By the time I remembered, I was almost done with the burgers. Had to boil 'em because it was faster. I will definitely try this technique next time - thanks for sharing!
i loved it!
I do the same thing except usually on the grill. I soak the corn in water for a few minutes before hand, but you don't have to.
It's a great in the summer when the corn is in season, cause you don't have to turn on the oven or boil water.
I like to squeeze lime on mine with some lemon pepper or garlic salt.
