So much so that my husband who typically stays away from spicy food said he didn't mind the heat whatsoever and I could definitely make it again! Cooked it on low for four hours and it started to boil so I moved it down to simmer for an additional six hours. I froze the leftovers for future use.
Thank you for posting a great recipe!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-23009345982702934002011-07-13T19:16:52.643-07:002011-07-13T19:16:52.643-07:00Good to hear from you! The reason that you skim the fat off at ...Veronica,
The reason that you skim the fat off at the end is: 1) if you drain the fat when you cook the meat, you will invariably get some of the meat juices (ie flavor) as well and that is not ideal. 2) when you cook the sauce for a very long time, it will cook more of the fat out of the meat, and you'll end up skimming at the end anyway. So, just do it all at the end. This way you can also choose to leave some of the fat in the sauce and just stir it in (if you want more flavor). Hope that makes sense!Scottnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-79270893610036569432011-07-10T02:12:01.854-07:002011-07-10T02:12:01.854-07:00Ummm this looks so deliciousUmmm this looks so deliciousnotyet100https://www.blogger.com/profile/12079779480407514805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-51890388456244259162011-07-09T22:49:43.707-07:002011-07-09T22:49:43.707-07:00It's been WAY too long since your last take-ov...It's been WAY too long since your last take-over, Scott! Welcome back. :) You've convinced me and I will be making this, but I was wondering about not draining the fat before adding to the crockpot. If you skim it off after cooking, wouldn't it just be easier to do it before?Veronicahttp://veronicascornucopia.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-32399348909991303162011-07-09T19:40:47.222-07:002011-07-09T19:40:47.222-07:00I LOVE using the slowcooker to make spaghetti, and...I LOVE using the slowcooker to make spaghetti, and the idea of combining beef and sausage is awesome - great recipe!fittingbackinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03936508772597439162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-51113220066654527102011-07-09T19:13:48.580-07:002011-07-09T19:13:48.580-07:00great! just love spaghetti...never cooked it's...great! just love spaghetti...never cooked it's sauce in a slow cooker before though~Mak anak tigahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15312659192990792752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3791660092154568206.post-1431845006972389332011-07-09T15:32:30.768-07:002011-07-09T15:32:30.768-07:00This looks amazing!
